Private diagnosis in UK

I used ADHD360, I’m nearly 30, and live in the UK. Started meds 5 days ago - elvanse. If you believe you have ADHD then to put it simply, pay for the consultation. I was also worried about the money at first, but the benefits of this whole experience have completely changed my life. Everything is different, the anxiety, inattentiveness (despite posting this whilst at work), mood swings, procrastination, depression, general sense of dread, needing other ‘substances’ to regulate mood, all near wiped away. It’s honestly like magic and the fact it’s taken until now to fix it doesn’t even bother me because the future feels bright for the first time I can remember.

It costs nearly £1000 in total for the consultation, package, and actual medication. But, what price can you actually put on feeling ‘normal’? Just do it, I waited 2 years for an NHS consult but because I can work and am considered ‘high functioning’ etc., I wasn’t at risk enough despite the internal damage it was tolling on me - masking behaviour can really bite you in the ass. The whole process was really linear and took place over the phone and a single Skype call. The doctor was also lovely and clearly wanted to help.

Apologies if this sounds like a sales pitch - but the difference this is made is so much more dramatic than I ever thought it could be and if a push is all you need then that’s what to consider this message. Go do it, it’s not something you’ll regret. And honestly, fuck money - what’s the point in earning any if you spend your entire life struggling (not to dismiss those who have problems preventing them from working at all etc., and so don’t even have this luxury).
