"Pro-Life" Texas Lawmaker Introduces Bill Imposing Death Penalty for Abortion | it's incredible but it didn't surprise me as much as it enrages me

You see, once you hold the position of “no abortions” you need to double down whenever you’re faced with a scenario that will cause you to doubt whether or not you’re doing the right thing. If you don’t, you risk compromising your position and losing the respect of your voter-base from “not owning the libs”.

Personally, my girlfriend and I would not have an abortion, and I think they shouldn’t have to happen, because ideally sexual education and access to birth control should be increased, as well as resources being made available for expectant mothers to allow people to afford having kids. This should allow the avoidance of having to abort for economical reasons, and access to birth control should help prevent ones that were not specifically planned.

Rape is always going to be a tough one, and I can’t really fault anyone that has one because of that. Ideally I’d love it if we can eliminate rapists to stop the need from that direction, but I also acknowledge that it’s probably not doable.
