This probably has been asked a lot, but what is the point in living?

My friend. Does an ant care for whom is the President of the United States? Does it need to? I think not. It is not only beyond their conception, but completely irrelevant to the machinations of their daily lives. The truth is, the unfathomable scope of the universe, the lack of any confirmable meaning in our lives, all of this, these fundamentally esoteric truths, are of absolutely no use to a Homo Sapien such as yourself. The existential search for meaning is rather foolish I believe, as our minds are only built to meaningfully interact with a rather small subset of the features inherent to the observable universe. There is no sadness in this; on this speck of dust which we call Earth, there is already far too much for any one human to process in a lifetime. Who is the fool who hopes for more? This grasping for knowledge, for meaning, is merely an unfortunate side effect of our relatively immense intelligence. This grasping obscures an essential truth, an essential truth that we ironically miss in our endless yearning; the point of life, is simply TO LIVE my friend. Or perhaps more poetically, to bear witness; to bear witness to the absurd fantasy that is our reality. You have inherited a vessel that allows you to perceive that which is around you, to extent beyond nearly every other animal being, and I personally feel that this is a simple and far greater gift than any "meaning" could possible match.

The life ahead of you, while it may sound cliché, is truly in your hands. Do not think so generically of your "future," as this is only a contrived concept. Seek to craft a life that you enjoy each day. Tap into the function of empathy, a essential function for us social animals, for you may discover a reason for living beyond your own being. It seems to me that you are plagued by the idea that you must attain some greater meaning. Do not allow this silly, nagging thought to hinder you any longer

You are a child who has been given an ice cream cone, and absolutely no guarantee that you will receive another. This ice cream cone that will melt, this is perfectly certain; do you enjoy it while it lasts? For its sake alone? Or do watch it melt in a perpetual state of anxiety, or depression. There is, truly, no correct mode of action. Just known
