The Problem With Monstercat

First of, if you saw Darlinton mansion.... you would never beleive the money they are making.

Second of, I forgot the art department so I can only say that people are here for the music, and not for the art. On a marketing perspective, monstercat is trying to increase the value of the monstercat brand and all the art, website, playlist are juste there to show an illusion of edge and prestige. Companies grow with time, and some companies have a great history and they focus on that to make the companie seem better than their competitor.

Yes, monstercat is a business, but it is also a record label. Record (im not a specialist on this specificaly) are meant to handle all legal inquieries for the artist and sell the product to a wide audience. Legal sh** is rare, but its just like an insurrance... its an easy way to fix things. (I might be side track so Ill end this here)

3rd, Monstercat just need to hire more people so they can meet with the demand. I just feel sad for artist who get turned down just because they only want high quality... the reason why they turn down old artist is mainly because they have too many release already planned in advance.

Finally, this is only my take on the problem and I just think that monstercat need to see the bigger picture. Correct me if im wrong, but I think the staff doesnt have the speciality of the business perspective. Monstercat staff is more like a party with pizza. I follow the media feed of a lot of employee at monstercat and working at monstercat (exept the art department where it is really hard) is kind of a joke. Basically, they make money out of someones work. Their business model is unique and the person that choose who get sign or not is absolutly unethical. This business model was perfect for an underground label... but monstercat isnt that anymore...

In short, if monstercat do nothing, it wont have any consequence, since they are doing so well. But think of varien or au5... au5 doesnt have the numbers he had anymore. Monstercat can help artist, but they need to work for it. Of course, it needs to come from the heart, not the money
