Prof attacks 'political correctness' in genderless pronouns, Bill C-16

I am fine with adding gender identity to protection from discrimination, but the possibility of someone being brought in front of a tribunal for what pronoun they use...it's bound to happen even if that isn't the intent of the law.

I know someone, a teacher, who is a wonderful person. Votes NDP all the time, very liberal. Giant heart and caring person. They got into an argument with a student one day, and that student dragged her in front of a ethics committee and accused them of being a racist among many other slanderous things. It caused them a lot of stress. They eventually withdrew the racism charge but it was still filled with things like "the teacher turned a cold shoulder to me when I said hello to her in the hallway". Ultimately she was cleared, but someone she works with was similarly dragged in front of one of these committees and got slapped by them simply because he raised his voice to a student.

I'm all for protecting gender identities, but I won't support a law if a student can potentially get someone I care for deeply fired if they find a single fault with how they talk to them.
