Has he asked you to limit your comments previously? Is this a comment that is proceeded by more formal requests? There is definitely more eloquent ways to go about this conversation that isn’t degrading, but a dominant talker is a problematic variable in the classroom no matter how you personally feel about it (education literature actually talks about this and how teachers can refrain from encouraging it). I don’t know why you care so much or feel the need to get even. The power dynamics aren’t in your favor and they have something you want = a passing grade. Why jeopardize that for the sake of ego?
Before ever offering any comments in class as a student, I try to ask myself beforehand: “will my peers benefit from this comment? If I think so, how is what I am talking about transferrable to them?”
