Profile Review - Week of January 01, 2019

I dont know how popular jokes about engineers are with the ladies. Maybe a first year engineering student would find this funny. The procrastinator thing is also probably unnecessary (everyone is, doesnt say much about you). Also I would ditch the nazi and kkk thing (most people hate em).

Honestly, you don’t need to talk about your faculty, and could just leave in the employment section. If its important to you its there though, thats not a bad thing. If you want joke about being a physics student, I would try to make it a bit more accessible if I were you.

For example: “Physics student. While I may not always catch the hint, I AM able to add up all the change in your purse, very fast.”

Maybe thats a little too self deprecating. I just wrote it on the spot so not really sure. Also its also a College Dropout reference which you may want to avoid if you’re not a fan. If you want to do something like this, maybe make the self deprecating part a little lighter. Anyways, a joke like this opens it up to people outside of physics/engineering a little more.

I would reference a show you like instead of saying you like TV shows/films. Just avoid insanely obscure shows, or picking quotes that are overdone (I’ve read the same few office quotes are done). Here are some examples from reasonably well known shows I’ve watched recently:

“So long, space cowboy” “Stop quoting your dads law commercials!” “Oy with the poodles already” (though you may come off as a bit of a suck-up quoting a show like this).

I like to keep these memorable but short. Someone who’s seen the show should always get the reference, but your profile shouldn’t come off as centred around it.

These approaches will spice up your bio a bit. Honestly its not as important as the pics, so it may not make much of a difference, but
