Project M Parry update: you can try it now!

It's amazing how typical Smash players sound so stupid when they're trying to describe their own game lol. If you think short hopping is difficult then there is absolutely no hope for you already. Fox's short hop is a 3 frame window, and the L cancel window is 7 frames. Don't try to drop trivia on people when you have no idea what you're even talking about.

These games are /not/ known for technical difficulty. It /is/ more known amongst more informed FGC people for its players giving themselves way more credit than they deserve. The things you described are static executions that will always have the same input timing every single time it is done, and there are no factors that change that. It is not by any means any kind of real difficult, and there's definitely nothing truly special about it compared to other games, so don't fool yourself into thinking as such like smash players tend to do. Smash as a whole is actual baby food compared to the difficulty of King of Fighters and high level Tekken.

Literally every fighting game in the world has 1 frame links, often in universal mechanics. Keeping your opponent in block or hitstun is way more than often nothing but 1 frame links, otherwise suffer the high damage punishment of a DP type attack, literally used in the exact same function as the fabled shine.

To parry, you don't have that static execution privilege. You are not ever in your whole life going to consecutively hit a 5 frame defense window when the opponent is purposely putting you in situations that makes it next to impossible to parry them in the first place, on top of purposely stuffing your terrible attempts via timing mixups. It's alright though, I fully understand why and how smash players are incapable of comprehending mixups. You don't have to explain that to me.

If you /really/ think a 5 frame parry window is easy, I challenge you to post 1 video of yourself parrying any 1 laser, coming from your choice of Fox, Falco, or Wolf, controlled by a competent player, for 2 minutes. Just him throwing lasers at you whenever he feels like, and you just standing there parrying them. I'd be mad impressed if you had a success rate of greater than 40% on your 100th try.
