‘Project Wide Awake’: How the RCMP Watches You on Social Media

What do people want? safe streets policed legally, or their "public privacy

Safe streets through sane policy and not authoritarian half thought out nonsense.

Police are not the driving source of public safety. We each are, all of us agreeing that other people deserve respect.

Thinking that people don't deserve privacy is pretty disrespectful and shows a lack of compassion for why that might be the case.

That lack of compassion is far more scary to me than police being allowed to crawl public social media. That lack of compassion is what drives crime.

And if you aren't the one committing the crimes, it'll be the ones you fail to show compassion to.

Compassion and empathy for each other stops crimes infinitely more effectively then police do. Focusing on respect will go much further than any authoritarian solution.
