So this wasn't a work injury, but you're right, I did get PTO in the form of short term disability. Intial injury was much worse than appears in this video.

As someone who deals with work comp claims, I can tell you with 100% certainty there is no reason a clinic doctor would keep you at work purposely, rather than give you restrictions or time off They aren't being paid by your company, they would actually be risking their own professional malpractice liability.

That being said... Clinic practices generally don't draw the highest caliber of staff. Check your state laws. Most states mandate you treat with your company chosen providers for a certain number of days or they won't pay the bills. After that set number of days, you can treat with whoever you want and be covered.
