Props to that one guy who tried to help, though

I've had the most nonsensical arguments with the dnd community.

Just like anywhere, some people are just the grime of the society and they are usually first to respond.

I remember I had one guy try to white knight my (ex)wife because she was our dm and I should be dming because clearly she actually wanted to be a player... after mentioning off hand that my (ex)wife was the DM in a story.

Another guy argued up and down that I was a complete moron for bringing up one Mr. Crawford's unhelpful rulings in Sage advice, thinking that I didn't understand the mechanic, completely missing the point of the argument, which was that stubbornly quoting book text instead of just answering the question when the problem was the book text doesn't help.
