Pros/Cons of the T20s

Based on my interview experiences (only highlighting those that actually have significant differences, since some are kinda just the same):

Yale
Pros: Yale System seems by far and away the best for mental health and work-life freedom in general (anonymous exams, minimal mandatory events, complete freedom, etc.) and complete P/F in preclinicals and clinical with no AOA or internal ranking, layman prestige

Cons: A lot of individual motivation and organization seems required to keep on track and since the requirements are so low you might get comfortable too easily, New Haven is kinda meh, from what I have heard Yale isn't as good of a teaching hospital as other top schools

WashU
Pros: BJ/WashU is arguably a t5 teaching hospital and name in medicine. New Gateway Curriculum seems absolutely lovely, lot's of time for individual exploration and less mandatory events + P/F throughout all 4 years. Mentorship/coaching for med students is a huge focus of the curriculum and (at least outwardly) seems way better than peer schools. Cost of living is probably unmatched for a top school. Merit scholarships are abundant.

Cons: New curriculum might still have some tweaking required and no one has done phase 3 (hard to find info if "true P/F" through clinicals without AOA/internal ranking but I think there's no ranking). Historically known as a gunner school but apparently admin is trying to actually be more holistic, in any case seems a bit competitive

NYU
Pros: Free tuition, living and studying in NYC
Cons: Internal ranking and AOA with graded clinicals...complete turn off IMO. Possibly inflated reputation but that's up to debate. Have heard it's a pretty negative and cutthroat environment.

Icahn Mt. Sinai
Pros: NYC + dorms, true P/F without internal ranking or AOA until clinicals (H/P/F), no undergrad/purely the largest health system in NYC so huge focus on the med students, lots of interdisciplinary work and huge social justice focus, in a nice area of NYC
Cons: A lot of the class is Flexmed so there might be a weird dynamic (not sure if this is a real con), Icahn Mt. Sinai has regional influence, pretty much no layman prestige (just grasping for straws here for cons lmao)

I can't see my message on phone anymore and this is way longer than I expected but if anyone wants my dumbass opinion on any other T20s from an interviewee perspective I'd be happy to give it, interviewed at pretty much all.
