Due to the circumstances, if the asshole criminal didn't decide to try to flee from the police and jump back in the car none of this would have happened. So is the asshole criminal allowed to just drive off with a police officer half in their vehicle putting their life at risk and then the public at risk. Do you know how many criminals decide to flee from the police and then go and kill some innocent person later down the road? This would be a very different case if that happened, if the officer died, people would be outraged why the other one didn't shoot to save the innocents.
