No, the penalty for assaulting police officers with a deadly weapon should be death. If your brave enough to assault a cop period you get what you deserve.

The point isn't that what those two did wasn't wrong, but that 1) everyone deserves due process of law by going before a judge and jury and that
1) The cop said the dude did exactly what the chain of evidence has him doing just moments before to a store clerk: reacting violently when confronted about a theft that was being investigaged. This time however, it wasnt a defenless women he threw a case of beer at, but a cop he was assaulting with a skateboard.

The fact that black people can be (and are) shot in vastly disproportionate number by police with no investigation or oversight is a travesty, and reflects terribly on us as a society.
