The prosecutors of Kyle Rittenhouse in a nutshell. (Seriously they didn’t even try to involve his mother)

The free as fuck photo was weeks after the fact. The other stuff suggests that he at least liked to talk tough, but all video from that day only shows him removing graffiti, putting out fires, and offering medical assistance. Notably, there is no video of him using the gun to threaten people in order to protect property exercising authority that he didn't have, despite a huge amount of video, suggesting that he only used his gun for self-defense. That was a huge question in my mind going into the trial. His control of the gun was downright impressive.

Despite what's been posted on Reddit, I don't think that his crying was fake, but it's also not exactly normal crying. I've cried like that only once in my life. It's more like a panic attack from being absolutely overwhelmed, not from being sad. Since a possible outcome of the trial is life imprisonment, that makes sense. I don't think for a second that he feels bad for anyone that he shot (as soon as he got to safety, one of the first things that he said was that he may have ruined HIS life, not his victims), but that doesn't really affect his claim of self-defense.
