The Protestant work ethic is stupid

Yes, one can think of Roger Williams.

But we did not love the Natives because the Britshit hated them. When we arrived here and met the Natives, we felt we found people who had the innocence of Adam and Eve. That's something you feel if you ever live amongst them (I have).

From the onset, the King of France ordered that not only no native was to be mistreated, but that absolutely no settlement be ever established without the express consent of the Natives.

Unlike the Spanish and the British, we did not exterminate them when it was established they could not be enslaved.

In a word, we did not colonize North America, but we immigrated here. We also signed alliances and treaties, culminating with "The great peace of 1701", where we established with all the First Nations some sort of "United Nations" a full 250 years before the victors of the Axis powers did, which essentially banned war.

This is how we managed to control a third of North America with only 66,000 settlers, at least 10 times less than the British.
