You have to remember the time period. Internet didn't exist and TV wasn't even common. Radio and newspaper were the only means of mass communication. I would imagine that the further you got from Berlin the less clear things would become.

I genuinely do believe that at this point the worst thing to do is to continue the constant barrage of insignificant stories. This was like a dozen people. Shouldn't be a story. Protests in England? Should be a story, because of the numbers.

That's why the 'orange man bad' comment is doing well. Not because people are supporting Trump, but because we get it. He's bad. Bad stuff he does should be stories. Stories that are literally just 'Orange man bad' are overdone.
