Province fires contractor for Grande Prairie hospital project following notice

It doesn't help the contractors hire incompetent work crews and supervisors, who are unskilled in the work that the contractor claimed they were capable of doing when they bid on and won the job, and who subsequently fuck up every minor component of the job and cut every corner imaginable. "LOL we put all the piles in the wrong spots" is an alarmingly frequent call to get from a site in this province. Actually I'm straight up aware of a few jobs where they built the entire building in the wrong spot.

Add in that every foreman and labourer in Alberta believes that the only correct building material and methodology is whatever they used on the last job, and you have a recipe for disaster on every project. Then you have a client with impossible unmeetable expectations who doesn't understand that their absurd requirements for the project end up requiring the designers to fit plumbing and ducting into to small of spaces to meet said requirements and budgets.
