PSA: Read Your Gym Contract, almost got scammed

This is why I do with the lump sum payment upfront for x number of years. Granted I get that not everyone can or feels comfortable to a multi-year commitment and/or can pay the hefty lump sum all at once upfront, but if you can it’s a no-brainer.

Costco offers a 2-year 24-Hour Fitness membership “all-in” for something like $430. Just purchased the voucher on Costco’s website, received my redemption code in an email soon after, went to the 24HF website, put in my redemption code, and done. No extra costs, no hidden fees, just a one-time payment that ends up coming out to only about $18/month.

After that I just walked into the nearby 24HF, told the front desk I just signed up on their website, showed them my ID, then they had me input my chosen ID number and scan my fingerprint (the two things you do to check in each time), and I was on my way.
