PSA: The Title "Nutritionist" Is Not Subject To Professional Regulation.

We know what the free market did. Look at history. It FUCKED people.

Look at it now... it's AGAINST competition. The easiest example I can throw your way is the collusion that is cable companies. They maliciously don't compete with each other.

In modern era's -- it's too expensive to ask the common man to pick up stuff like that and "start their own business" -- which is specific WHY we need government to step in on some issues.

In the food industry -- it's REALLY important.

They may not be perfect at it but it's FAR better than letting the "free market" work for itself 100%. In fact, this is often why people misunderstand government. It's not a business. It's not meant to make a profit, by DESIGN. It SHOULDN'T ever make a profit and any profit made, ever by accident, should go back to tax payers somehow or another (often what happens is budgets go higher and, say, schools get donations in a round about way).

The "Free Market" rarely is better or cheaper if left uncontrolled for an extended period of time in the modern days.

Now if you want to talk patent and copyright reform.. then I'll be willing to consider giving a few points to you off of mine.. until then, however. Nope.

"Free Market" only works for mom and pop smaller shops and even then, you STILL need the government to do things like: Make sure their building is electrically wired correctly and their food is stores properly and employee's are treated fairly (e.g. you don't LOCK THEM IN to make sure they can't leave, then have a fire and have a lot die!; which happened, by the way).

History is against you, my friend. The Free Market only works when balanced against the government.

Some things are NEVER negotiable. I'll tell you what, the next heart attack you have -- "negotiate" the best price you can get and haggle. Also do your research on the doctors before dialing 911. Let me know how that "free market" works for you then. Answer: It doesn't. It's a do or die situation.
