Maybe never mind about what I was looking for in that comment, because I'm looking at a list of famous writers on psychedelics, and the answer of what they do seems blindingly obvious and undeniable, and it's not a good thing, so I wouldn't want people to promote them. It makes people think weird things, and believe it. People talk to the animals, imagine things they think are important religious visions, join or start science-fiction cults and get paranoid and try further nonsense such as voodoo curses. Why do people believe the weird, imaginary, half-dream things they experience under the influence of psychedelics? I don't know, and the answer to that is not as important to me as the fact that it seems like really, really bad news for mental health.
