Pubs set to stay shut for FIVE MONTHS until May as Boris Johnson mulls extending lockdown and only lifting it slowly

The thing about pubs is that there's often a revolving door of failing small businesses bled dry by the breweries. It's not a business I envy, hard work, low reward, long hours, high risk. Their business model is actually quite similar to the Government's strategy with hospitality, they're both relying on many individuals and small businesses losing their own wealth and going bust because it would cost the breweries/Government too much to save them.

Maybe the breweries will have a harder time finding new chumps to sink their life savings into it, but I'm sure they'll manage to find someone. Worst case, they'll get permission to convert the buildings from being pubs and they'll sell them for a huge windfall.
