Homophobia encompasses a range of negative attitudes and feelings toward homosexuality or people who are identified or perceived as being lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT). It has been defined as contempt, prejudice, aversion, hatred or antipathy, may be based on irrational fear, and is often related to religious beliefs.

aversion - a strong dislike or disinclination

Antipathy is a voluntary or involuntary dislike for something or somebody, the opposite of sympathy... Interpersonal antipathy is often irrationally ascribed to mannerisms or certain physical characteristics, which are perceived as signs for character traits

Puig is wearing a girl's outfit and doing something effeminate. His mannerisms and physical characteristics are being perceived as signs of feminine character traits. Effeminate males and homosexuality are perceived as being linked. People are expressing dislike, disinclination, and the opposite of sympathy towards this post because of those characteristics. What's hard to see about that? Would they have to be calling him a slur or calling for him to be killed or something for you to think it was homophobic? If there was a picture of an interracial couple and people were commenting "hm" "uhhhhhhhhhhhh" "not sure how I feel about this" would you say they weren't being racist so long as they weren't trying to lynch them?

Why are you trying to defend those comments or pretend they're not homophobic? I don't get it. Do you argue that the sky isn't blue?
