A few years ago we had a groundhog we LOVED because he was SO CUTE. We caught him taking a bath in the birdbath once — little guy was sitting in the birdbath like a human would, hind feet dangling over the edge, washing his armpits with water. (I’m so mad we didn’t get a photo of him in time!!) He was a great neighbor. He did not like bell pepper but he did like carrot sticks. But he didn’t like to eat them on a paper plate — he would overturn the paper plate and eat them off the ground.

We did humanely trap and release him, though, due to the issue of him tunneling underneath the house. ☹️ I brought carrot sticks and water to his new abode for a while so he could stay fed. Someday maybe we’ll have a nice nondestructive groundhog.
