I’ve bought a few collections on Facebook. Some people want out and I offer a fair price for cards I can flip, and the rest of the bulk for bulk prices. Sure they may post asking for £2000 for their collection (prices by SCG) but offer what you think it is worth and see what they say. Most people laugh at me at my offers (generally 50% of what they are asking for), but some people come back when they realise no one else wants their bulk rares. On a side note, I offer more if they guarantee to have their cards sorted by rares and then set/colour uncommons/commons when posted. Saves me a lot of time and I’ll pay for that time.

Equally to what people have mentioned about yard sales, I have sold bulk at £20/1000 at carboot sales recently. Some people know it’s a collectible but don’t know the value of cards. If asked I’ll tell them it’s bulk, but most people just think it’s something else they can sell on.
