Putin Has Asperger's (News Story)

I also have issues with the rejection of propaganda by some posters here. If you think about it everyone propagandizes everyone else. The way we speak indicates our intelligence, telling others we are smart. How we dress indicates our opinions on clothing and shows that we are clean. Subconscious propaganda is everywhere, everyone does it

It's true we are "taking sides" even on the subconscious level. But there are differences in the degrees of propaganda.

If we determine propaganda by being something that affects other people and makes them think or feel things they wouldn't think or feel without the propaganda's presence, then we are walking propaganda posters. Even the one-colour shirt with no text or patterns I use can present something to somebody else. Not that I could know what, but it can affect other people's minds. Still, it's not like I'd embrace or really want that.

I aknowledge that I can affect other people both on conscious and unconscious level, but I still have to choose a shirt every day. Not using clothes would be some kind of a statement (or present a statement even if the naked person didn't want to make a statement, which is - then again - its one kind of statement...) as well.

We will affect other people no matter if we wanted or not. That doesn't mean we should be okay with systematical propaganda, which is a whole another form of propaganda.

Propaganda is usually determined as a conscious attempt to control people's minds, to lead them where you want them to be. If I accidentally provoke thoughts or feelings in other people without conscious attempt or want to control their minds, am I really the walking propaganda poster we suggested earlier? For it to be propaganda, it should be intentional and have some dirty background-motives.

It's not like we could, just by our mere beings, control other people's minds (or it's highly unpossible in ordinary life where we don't have the intention to control other people's minds). I have never been inside other person's head, I can't even know what thoughts or feelings the one-colour shirt with no text or patterns would provoke in them. It could be something I can't even imagine myself.

The only thing I can be sure of is that I can affect other people's minds in ordinary life, but I can't say how. It's not very effective propaganda, or is it?
