The Putin Generation... Young Russians are Vladimir Putin’s biggest fans

A lot of Americans (that I know) make the assumption that Russians support Putin for fear of retaliation or political persecution and not legitimate support. Personally reading the article I was surprised at the full throated support among Russia's younger generation. I don't mean to be condescending but that's just the narrative and evidence we have to go on.

I think calling our attempts to understand and contextualize the political culture disgusting is a tad much, although I agree this article was biased and far too editorialized, and looking at it through the crucible of democracy is naive.

Can you offer a clearer view for why young Russian's as so pro-Putin compared to previous generations? Was there is a hint of truth in the article in terms of the stability he has brought to the country? I'm just interested in your take on this, so I can understand better. Thanks ))
