Pyro and Preach have been fun to watch.

Very true.. xD

I really enjoyed JoCat's stream and his community, but he also does a lot of other stuff and is through with the MSQ now, so there is not much FFXIV content going on right now on his channel.

I've been watching Pyro's stream, but also checked on Preach's channel on the bigger moments via VoD once in a while. Usually both would not be streamers I would watch because especially on Preach's channel (or rather community) you still have the whole tone, the whole respectless behaviour that is a big part of what kept me away from WoW. (Though not as heavy as with Asmon or the guy who locked himself into a closet. People say "that's just Twitch chat", but no, it isn't. There are plenty of channels with a super wholesome community from other games or hobbies who are really nice.) For example - and I know this might attract those "uuuuuh, SJW woke snowflake" comments - that neither Preach nor his community even bothered to note that all Fae are nonbinary and go by "they". Or that the chat is spamming all these racist pepe memes, (that might not have been racist from the start but have been claimed a long time ago and are now a great indicator for how much people in a community care about this stuff.)

Pyro is saying "crazy" and "insane" a lot (which is also not great) and his mods are pretty strict with spoilers, but he is rarely actually meaning it as an insult and this should be pretty clear to everyone who heard him say "Thanks for the 10 gifted subs, that's insane!" xD Obviously he is not insulting his community for gift subs. And he has become a lot calmer the further he progressed in the game, FF14 has helped him with his mental health and getting better with his anger problem. But if you have an anger "issue" on a medical level, and aren't neurotypical on top of that, you can't just get rid of this like a bad habit or a cold and I feel this is something many critics fail to understand. And he is really trying. Same with the writing, it takes a bit time to get used to, but if it helps him processing everything and concentrating on the story more, which is really tough with ADHD, sure, why not. (I am surprised he is even capable to stream for such an extremely long time.) It's not hurting anyone and it is refreshing to see someone so deeply invested in the lore as I am. (But then again, I also take notes for creating a comic one day, though I do it digitally and just use Copy + Paste when I feel that a summarized one liner doesn't work.)

I can totally understand when someone doesn't want to watch his channel with this pace, and doesn't give him the benefit of the doubt in some cases, I won't defend his whole personality. But some things I read in the comments really seem to come from a fundamental lack of understanding for mental health issues and that was.. meh.
