[Q] In Total War Warhammer, I have the feeling that 90% of the fights get decided on the campaign map. Anyone else?

You kinda did not read the initial post. As I said, those "big army" clashes are over in a few minutes and do not give me the feeling of being able to do something besides clashing with the enemy line.

And regarding the 2vs1 fullstack situation: I also said above why this is not a good solution. Besides of what I mentioned above, being forced to go into fights at a disadvantage for the sake of having a better fight is not something I'd like to do. The game has to be in a way that's fun, especially when I play good with it.

Well and playing good in such a situation is to retreat and come back with a two fullstacks on your own.

That's why the first few turns of a campaign are always the best. You can't do that. You have to take those fights, and the enemies also don't have fullstacks everywhere. It's much more varied, more engaging and more versatile.

It's what makes Total War so much more fun than other games with a campaign map but no battle maps.

Well yeah, however after a few turns, the whole game becomes a game about the campaign map. That's the problem I am talking about here...at least for me :/
