Qantas on track to collect $2bn of support as Morrison government criticised for not seeking stake

It’s odd that most redditors don’t realise or choose to be ignorant that the border closures and lockdowns are beyond QAN control. They just want to see QAN handed back to the government control in some form or another regardless of how well they were doing precovid. Most of us were meant to be vaccinated by now so that we don’t have to lockdown or have border closures but that didn’t happen. Overseas returns are still not moved away from hotels. If we can ban prevent residents from returning from a another state, we should be doing the same to countries ravaged by covid or mandate proof of full vaccination. Both a federal government failure. Chances are regardless of which government, if it had a big stake, QAN would be bogged down with useless bureaucracy and waste.
