After I graduated from college, I applied as an admin assistance aka utusan at literally taga timpla ng kape. 2 applicants lang kami and we both got in. There weren't 1000 other vying for the same job.

I had to show then my diploma and TOR and the interviewer even asked me to explain to her about my thesis in full detail, cheret! Anong connect ng magiging trabaho ko sa thesis ko? Wala.

A few years later I applied naman as a receptionist, aka taga sagot ng phone at taga greet ng pasyente. Ako lng din yung applicant, hired on the spot, had to show all my acad qualifications before I was able to sign a contract.

A lot of Filipinos share the same sentiment. How come there is almost zero academic qualification to hold such high positions? Yet when you apppy for a simple desk job even if there are no other applicants, you need to be a college grad?
