Quality post about how america is so large and has so many different cultures

Woops, I wrote the comment as soon as i woke up and didn't realize how preachy it sounded. I'm actually from Vietnam, and compared to where I am from which is either rural or city, there are a lot of different cultures in my general area than there was in Vietnam. Back there you were either from the country or from the city, and even then you all acted nearly the same. I'm from northern california, and the city i reside in is very civilized and kind. Just a few miles away is stockton, where it can become pretty ghetto and a few minutes from there is UOP, where there are a lot of wealthier people going there. In Vietnam there are also three accents that most people know of, here in america I have met so many people with different accents and different dialects. Its actually pretty amazing. What I said in the original post about Norcal being different from Socal is true eventhough overexaggerated. While we have hella people that say hella, Socal does not, but they do say "Like" a lot more. I also notice that they said "waDer" instead of "waTer" too. Small things but can be noticeable when paid attention.

I used to know a girl from Michigan and she spoke completely different than what I was used to. Though it wasn't so different like a brooklyn accent, it was still different. Just small enunciations that gave a different feel. For a brief time I also lived in Texas where (surprisingly) they weren't as HOWDY YALL as you might think, but you can definately notice the difference greatly.

Also as someone who frequents asian resturaunts a lot, I noticed that in other states that I've been to, they never seem to have as much as California. Granted, its probably because california is more populated and has a pretty large asian demographic in many of its cities. Also I could never find a nice Texas BBQ style joint anywhere in california. Of course, I haven't tried to look so hard, but the abundance of those in Texas compared to California makes the cultural and dietary difference stand out.

Again though, I really screwed up with my post. I usually go out of my way when posting to not sound preachy and cringeworthy. Usually when I post I try to be straight to the point as possible its just I really REALLY was not paying attention while posting that. I reread it and while I understood my intentions to say that America isn't all ghetto, if i were anywhere else, I would xpost it to /r/cringe .
