Just so it is clear to everyone, this had nothing to do with denouncing an aggressor...

the change will allow a victim (or someone who claims to be a victim) to SUE for money someone they claim has sexually assaulted them in the past, no matter how long ago it was.

The clincher here is that in civil court, there is no need to prove the accused actually perpetrated the acts.

Just like OJ Simpson was acquitted of the murder of his wife, he was found responsible in civil court and had to pay financial compensation to the families of the deceased.

so just to be sure everyone understands, the only thing this accomplishes is to remove the time limit for someone to SUE someone else for money. It is UNLIKELY to make it any easier for REAL VICTIMS to denounce their aggressor but it will make it very easy for anyone to SUE someone or to SUE THE SUCCESSION (the children of) someone they accuse of being guilty of abuse.
