Quebec resident Alain Philippon charged at Halifax airport for not giving up phone password

In a mature and civilized country we wouldn't have to put up with all this security theatre horseshit.

To those of you who think there's nothing wrong with these arbitrary searches I can only say that ignorance is bliss.

None of this would be much of a problem IF the military and law enforcement communities were not completely corrupt and crime-ridden. But they are, and while "average people" may mistakenly assume that they have nothing to hide, the problem is that one cannot make assumptions about the motives of corrupt, murdering organized criminals in uniform when you naively imagine that they are primarily interested in apprehending common criminals. Yes, they do make a show of arresting criminals, particularly when there are television crews nearby, but that is about all.

No. You do not know when totally corrupt uniformed criminals will decide that you and your assets are fair game for the looting or similar. No. You do not know when such people will value access to your electronic devices, nor what they can do to such devices when they gain access. And by access, I mean physical access and not just password access.

We live in a full-on violent and corrupt 1984-ish police state, and your personal data is valuable to corrupt uniformed thugs because it tells them what you have and what you know. From that they can learn your weaknesses and if they are so inclined formulate strategy and tactics to p0wn your life for their purposes.

Remember: law enforcement and the intelligence community are in no way subject to accountability or competent oversight and their hiring practices and culture have been manipulated to deliberately produce corrupt organized criminal organizations masquerading as legitimate state institutions. The general public is now nothing more than an exploitable resource there for the enrichment and entertainment of mentally retarded drug-abusing thugs with a side-order of non-mainstream religious extremism.

You think I'm exaggerating? Dream on. I know exactly what I am talking about.
