One tiny pointer? The entire point of Public Forum is to NOT have ANY progressive argumentation. It was literally created when the policy people “ruined” LD and they needed a form of debate that was simple. That’s why it’s called “Public Forum” They literally created LD as the result of nobody being able to understand progressive argumentation, and then some policy people “ruined” LD completely by accident. Then, when LD was ruined, they had to make a form of debate that normal people could understand. If you add any progressive argumentation to Public Forum, it’ll only go down the same slippery slope that Policy and Lincoln Douglas debate went down. Not that I disagree with progressive argumentation styles, (I often spread at 450wpm+) but not all schools (especially rural ones/poor ones) can afford to have coaches that can train children in highly progressive policy and Lincoln Douglas. Public Forum provides a safe space for these schools and allows children living in disprivileged communities a chance to debate. To take that away would be horrid and effectively make debate a “middle class and up” activity. Which cannot happen.
