Question about encoding matter into photons speed of light travel, hard to fit in title

All the criticism you level about misuse of thought experiment, mentioning consciousnes with physics/quantum mechanics, etc - I agree. And it's a sad day when I am forced to ask these ridiculous questions, but I can't find a suitable answer to my satisfaction yet. I love physics, I've read Our Mathemarical Universe which posits exactly what you say - it's quantum states (or math) all the way down, and I believe 95% of that book and can be easily convinced of the other 5% (not that Tegmark is making a 100% scientific argument in it) and I abhor mysticism, Deepak Chopra, and agree with all the generalities you have leveled against me. I never defined consciousness either, a big misstep, and I suppose most of my hangup is on how we define it.

I guess in the end my question is no different than the so common consciousness dying teleporter setup, I just tried to come at it in a very roundabout way. But I'm seeing that mixing physics with philosophy (e.g. definition of consciousness) rarely works. But I still haven't been convinced through our conversation I would wake up at the end of the teleporter.
