Depends on their members actually. I've been in three clans so far (I mean, before the clan update - when they had in a cc form only). First one was as you describe: a quiet one. The clanmates werent AFK and they werent on discord so far as I know, but they were just preferring it this way. If someone felt like chatting, he would - but that wasnt often. I myself am like that: I prefer to go by my business and wont bother anybody... until I feel a need to discuss something urgent :)). This was ideal for me, but unfortunately there were some 2-3 not very pleasant persons, and one day it got just.... a bit more than enough.

Another clan which I had already known at that moment, was super friendly and nice.... but also super chatty. I felt my head gets crazy after half an hour there. But atm I had no choice - so I sometimes was with them, sometimes alone. Joined, made a rank. Still there after 3 years and the clan update. TBH, they chat too much for my personal taste, so I often mute the channel. But the people are so good and there are some close friends, and no toxicity is tolerated (unlike my first clan). I love them, though I'm not always able to listen to the constant traffic. And yes, these have a disc too, and they also chat on disc, and post pics/vids everything, in text and voice! How they manage to endure this constant stream - a mystery LOL.

So... I suppose, all depends of personal preferences of individual members. Quiet people make quiet communities, chatty ones make chatty chats. But more important, if they are good or toxic, imho. Much more so. In the long run, this is the only thing which counts.
