Question About Kicking Competition

Going to get downvoted for saying this, but 3 missed kicks against Detroit is actually a pretty good example of how everyone blew his season out of proportion. He had a bad game. He missed 3 FGs and 2 PAT's that day. If you take that outlier out of his season stats, he had a perfectly average season. If Mitch has an off day, we are more than willing to write it off as an off day. Yet everyone wanted Parkey's head for that.

Then what happened in the WC game was a complete team collapse, from top to bottom. We let up the greatest upset of the 2019 NFL playoffs. Coaching and all players should be accountable. Yet Parkey's kick has become the scapegoat and, unfortunately, he didn't help his own cause after the fact by making a spectacle on a talk show. But make no mistake that the double-doink is a scapegoat and an unfortunate emblematic play of an entire team-failure of a game.
