Question about The Menu ending

Your first question I have no good answer for, except that for 'reasons' he had the ingredients on hand.

The second, NO. HE DID NOT SERVE HER TAINTED MEAT.

She saw that picture in his room with him serving hamburgers and the 'Kiss the Cook' bib. He was happy in that picture.

When she said he had replaced love with obsession she had absolutely nailed it. Not only did he know it - but I think he appreciated it.

When she requested that cheeseburger and he SERVED HER she had given him something he hadn't seen in ages. She found his joy.

Those people were there because he blamed them for the joy of cooking being lost.

He was a monster, but he was a principled one. If you want to call all this a game then she had won.

She was fine. He appreciated what she did for him. That cheeseburger was the real deal.
