Question about no unit decks

The problem isn't that no unit decks are unbeatable. Generally, if you aren't playing units, you aren't putting points on the board, so you're going to lose.

The problem is they aren't fun to play against and aren't really the way Gwent should be played (by 'should be played, I mean the vision the developers have for the player experience).

Gwent is a game about both sides fielding units to their side of the board as commanders of an army. That's the entire conceit. That means players are meant to actually have units and play them.

But, worse than this, they're just not fun to play against. Everything else in the latest update has made the game more fun but playing against someone who just nukes everything you play is not fun. There's definitely space for control decks and it's healthy for the meta to have a mix of control, aggro, tempo and combo strategies. But control decks with like 1 or 2 units is just not fun.
