I have a question about the position people take against the church, calling it a cult.

Interesting point. I'm curious about the premise of your original comment, that the love people have for Mormons is a sign of the church's fruits in spite of the church itself being hated. Taking this same model and applying it to these statistics (about Jews suffering more hate crimes in spite of Judaism being viewed favorably), are you inferring that this would similarly count as the fruits of Judaism? That a generally beloved church whose members are persecuted is thereby untrue, or that its members somehow bring the persecution upon themselves in a manner similar to how Mormons bring high esteem upon themselves?

I'm just trying to see your point through to its logical conclusion.
