Question about renewing a rental agreement

you do not need to sign another lease, under the laws you're automatically renewed, but to no fixed term, other than having to give standard 60 days notice. So Under the landlord tenant act you now have a "month to month lease" after your year is up. Landlords will try all sorts of shit to get you to sign into another lease. I know a guy who owns a house and pulls this kind of shit with his tenants, he wanted a swimming pool (at his private home, in another location) and so the bank wanted his tenants on leases, so after not being on leases for 3 or 4 years he went around and tried to make them sign leases.... and tried to make up some bullshit excuses... and it all backfired and now he has no pool and i laugh at him..

the city of Waterloo has zero control over LTA matters and leases.
