Question about the sugar content in Ensure

Thanks for the response. Actually I ended up deleting the thread as i didn't want to distract myself with reddit, so i hope that lessens the concern. I started eating ensure because i was dealing with a medical disorder that made it difficult for me to eat solid foods, all i could really eat was pedialyte and ensure at the time. It's still difficult now for other reasons, and without the ensures i'd continue losing weight. I am seeing a GI specialist next week to try and understand what's going on. I still am not sure I understand however what's wrong with eating them long term, even after i don't need them. The reason why this question interests me, is because the ensures seem like they have what they need nutrient wise. I think my goal with food at this point is just to make it as efficient as possible. So if there's some food that captures what i need, it doesn't make sense in my mind to spend lots of time and difficulty on other foods just to get the same result, if that makes sense. For example, i get the goal is to get clients back on solid foods but my question is... why? i know that sounds like a dumb question but i just don't get it... What is superior about solid food?

Please note you do not have to answer this question, and i'm not trying to take your time. i have an appointment with my RD next week and I'll ask her this again. the only point i really got when i asked her that last time, was that fresh foods have antioxidants, which ensure does not, and i felt that was a valid point and it's always stuck with me.
