Question about veganism

I can understand where you're coming from, it's an extremely common point of view many people have before learning about veganism. If you have encountered any hostile nature from other vegans, the anger isn't a personal attack on you - it's because we are so confused and angry as to why people haven't caught onto all the evidence yet.

As for your statement that is basically saying "why bother because animal cruelty will still exist," yes that's true it will always exist. Whether that's from someone abusing their domestic animals, to mass scale abuse of "agricultural" animals. However, you can't apply that same rule to society throughout periods of time.

For example: "Oh yeah I can see why having a 14 year old wife is bad, but it'll still happen somewhere even if I stop so why bother?"

All animals hold the same amount of value. Why is a dog being slaughtered for a dog meat festival 'horrific', yet a cow/chicken/sheep/etc being slaughtered is justified with "yeeeeah that's sad but at least it's for something," For what? What is it being slaughtered for? Someone to say it tastes nice in their burger? Hm yeah that makes sense.

Just because it may take a little while for people to become informed, why not become part of those actually informing others? As for finding scientific evidence, it's all laid out in front of you.
