[Question] To both seasoned ABers and newbies, what was your Core 4 (oil cleanser, face wash, moisturiser, sunscreen) when you first started and how did your routine evolve into what it is now? What were the products you decided to buy in your 'second' haul?

Ok, so I'm just going to jump straight to the "decent" routine I had when I first started.

Because if we went back to where I really first started...shudder

When I began:

  • The Face Shop Bright Rice Oil Cleanser

  • Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser

  • Shiseido Ibuki SPF 15 moisturizer

  • i thought spf 15 was enough fml

So I repurchased most of these, actually. This was not an amazing routine, but it was not a terrible routine. I've since phased them out of my routine one by one, but I always did a lot of research when buying my products. I never really did a "haul". This is due to my skin having always been finnicky, so I couldn't really buy things solely based on cute packaging or anything like that. My routine has evolved a lot since then.

Now:

AM

  • La Roche Posay Effaclar Gel Cleanser pH 5.5 [tried CosRx Good Morning Cleanser, was too drying. I prefer this]

  • Noble Zinc Soap T/Th (suggested by my Curology derm)

  • Benton Snail Bee High Content Skin [Tried Ibuki Softener before this, but it ran out too quickly for the $$$. Also tried Hada Labo, and lived in denial for 1.5 bottles. It clogged my pores.]

  • LJH Tea Tree Essence [I've used this for a year or two now, and I like it a lot. I don't think I would repurchase if it was full priced ($45). Worth it if you get it on sale.]

  • Missha Sun Block Essence SPF 45, or CosRx Aloe Sun Cream SPF 50 when dry [Oh man. A lot of sunscreens break me out, so I won't list them because it wasn't like there was anything particularly wrong with them, other than the fact that my skin didn't like them. These two are great though, the Missha is my favourite]

PM

  • Garnier Micellar water (pink top for skin, blue top for eye makeup) [Tried Simple micellar water before this, but it broke me out. As for removing eye makeup, I just use whatever. This one has been pretty good though, and I'll probably repurchase. I like the pink top micellar water a lot, and have repurchased already]

  • Kose Speedymo Cleansing Oil if I wore makeup [Tried DHC and Face Shop Rice cleansing oil, but this one is my favorite so far! It's not quite as thick as the DHC, but definitely thicker than Face Shop. It takes my waterproof mascara off better than those two as well. Will likely repurchase.]

  • Neutrogena Gentle Creamy Cleanser (suggested by my Curology derm) [Used to use Cetaphil, but I like this one better. My skin seems to like this better.]

  • Curology [HG, worth the money for me. I did CosRx BHA, AHA, and the Melano CC for a little less than a year before I started Curology. On a scale from 1 to 10, if my skin was a 3 before, it ranged from 5-6 with BHA/AHA/CC. My skin is 8-9 with Curology. Highly recommend!]

  • Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence [Tried Sidmool Secret of Red Astaxanthin, it kind of did nothing. Also tried Estee Lauder Night Repair serum, and it's brightening but it clogs my pores. Also tried Scinic Honey AIO, it did nothing, except clog my pores.]

  • Mizon Snail AIO (black jar) [Tried Shiseido Ibuki Refining Moisturizer, and liked it but $$$. The Mizon isn't super moisturizing on it's own, but every time I try a different one my skin is like "noooooooo" so I keep repurchasing it.]

  • CosRx Honey Sleeping Pack [I use this because the Mizon isn't super moisturizing on it's own, and it seems to help lock everything in. I like it. I tried the CosRx Rice Sleeping Pack, but my skin seems to like the Honey one better. I can't quite pinpoint why, but my skin didn't look or feel as good when I was testing out the Rice one.]
