It's like they have full on internalized the western European style of xtianity, with an intolerance and contempt for all minority religions.

Are you talking about Ghar Wapsi stuff? Btw, this is a quote from Savarkar in his book My Transportation for Life:

"I have no hatred in my heart for Muslim or Christian brothers or even for those living in tribes in primitive state. I do not even despise any of them. I oppose only that section of it vehemently which is oppressive and violent towards others."

Keep in mind, he was the one to coin the phrase Hindutva.
