[QUESTION] For Those Eligible for Social Security - Why Not Just Move To A Cheaper Location Such As Thailand or Cambodia? x-post r/personalfinance

This comment makes no sense. You would be ten times more pampered in Thailand than you would be in the United States. In Thailand you can have a personal chef and a maid for about $300 a month. You could rent a four bedroom, three bathroom, two-story house with mountain views, and several acres of land for less than $500 a month. You could hire a personal driver to take you everywhere and wait on you hand and foot for $300 a month. You could jump on a plain anytime you wanted and travel to any number of other countries for less than $150 per round-trip flight.

In Thailand you can go watch the newest blockbusters in a 4k theater in the VIP section which will cost you about $6. You get a literal loveseat couch, a blanket, the couch reclines all the way back, and complimentary drinks. You can't get tickets for the same movie int he states in a stiff, stained, sticky theater seat for under $10 or so.

Like what you're saying makes no sense.
