A question for the younger generation

I’m 25 and strongly believe that it is due to increases in technology.

I notice that people older than me tend to have strong hobbies that helped them gain skills. I notice that most people younger than me don’t always have hobbies. They either seem to be in front of a screen 24/7 or they are so self conscious due to social media that they need to always be out to show the world they are doing something (but they’re not actually really doing anything).

I have a lot of hobbies. I garden, play piano, rock climb, hike, crochet, and just picked up bass. I love my hobbies but it’s still a lot easier for me to sit down after work and play some LoL or rewatch The Office than to start crocheting a new scarf (especially when I can just buy a cute new scarf off amazon that will be here the same day). It’s also easier to play Rock Band than it is to learn guitar or bass. If you keep playing Rock Band in your living room, you can also avoid meeting new potential band mates to play with and feed into that ever increasing social anxiety that everyone has nowadays.
