As composing music has been my hobby for 20 years before I started learning guitar, I recorded my progress by laying down guitar tracks in music... so I actually can answer that question quite well.

After two months my rhytm work was getting to be «not horrible» when playing single notes. I was still struggling with some chords and making changes efficiently (and tbh, I still have a long way to go). I had reasonable control over pentatonic and blues scales, but moving shapes was a bit tricky. My bending and vibrato was, erm, not suited for human consumption. I was starting to automatically mute with my strumming hand, but the habit had not yet built properly in my picking hand. I was pretty decent at moving the fretboard and using alternate picking and economy picking.

So the short answer is: I had improved immensely, but it did not sound nice on anything but the simplest of stuff.
