[Question] Interested in homesteading but have no idea where to begin

I could have wrote this. Only difference is I've got experience as a farm hand and have done two week long PDCs, and we own a home in the suburbs with a decent sized lawn that we're experimenting with.

Have been remote (marketing) for two years and am shifting towards SWE.

Some days we dream about moving 40 minutes out into the country. Some days we dream about buying a condo downtown.

Here's what I know, housework and yardwork take a lot of time and energy. To build a self sustaining homestead would be fun but also super stressful and take lots of hardwork. I project it would take 2-3 hrs before and after a full day of work to build and sustain. The more ambitious, the more time and work.

Have you considered a 2-3ac lot with a home in an exurb?

Regardless, I agree with others. Start where you are now. And begin to cut that weight and build muscle now!
